The HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course is the NEW updated version of this course, replacing the superseded HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from 2021.

Our HLTAID009 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation course is now available in a blended format.

The unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge to assist in a cardiac arrest where CPR ( Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation ) is required. It covers all aspects of basic resuscitation as well as the use of defibrillators in the public setting.

Courses are available throughout Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast.

CPR Course Requirements

Only basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course. Access to a computer with internet, as well as basic computer skills is required for completion of this unit. Completion of this unit does require the student to be able to get onto the floor to perform CPR – this is a licensing requirement of the unit.

If you have ANY special needs ( eg, language / literacy / numeracy difficulties, physical disabilities etc ) that you think may impact on your ability to complete this training please let us know prior to enrolling.

We use online assessments via the student Learner Portal for this unit. A smart phone or laptop, fully charged with internet access is required. It is the students responsibility to ensure they have such a device and have gained prior access to their Learner Portal. Information on accessing their portal is available on their Confirmation email or by contacting our office. All participants of our courses must have basic computer skills. Computer / IT skills include the ability to access emails and follow links within those emails, complete online forms and create / access online profiles. If you can navigate Facebook as an example you would have no issues. 

Pre-course study

It is required that you watch the CPR videos available on our website to aid in your understanding of CPR.

There will be a short quiz at the beginning of the course on the information contained in the videos, this is to enable the trainer to better guide the content of the course for you.

Re certification requirements

CPR refresher is recommended annually

Assessment requirements

Most courses now use electronic online assessments during class. This means student will need to bring with them a smart device with internet connection.

There is some theory and practical assessment to ensure that the participant has gained the required knowledge and confidence in the skills covered in the unit. You will be required, as per the Training Package, to complete 2 mins of CPR on a CPR manikin on the floor.
