Show currency of knowledge during LOCKDOWN to help maintain your complaince....

Vital First Aid is legally permitted to conduct first aid training during the Sydney Lockdown however we value the safety of our trainers – our students and the wider community above that of the $.

We strongly discourage attending any face-to-face training in Sydney during this lockdown especially when there are safe options……

We have 3 options available:
Option 1 – evidence of currency in knowledge until you can attend a full course
Option 2 – group courses
Option 3 – online theory then assessment only face to face 1/2 hour session

Option 1

Gain a Statement of Completion until its safe to attend a full course

Most industry bodies including ACECQA are highly recommending delaying the completion of practical components of the first aid during lockdown. Vital First Aid supports this action and has adapted our course to provide the option of completing online learning/assessment and then attending a face-to-face class after lockdown when it is truly safe to attend such a course. We will issue a Statement of Completion for the online learning/ assessment which should satisfy the requirements of your employment when combined with evidence of a full face-to-face course booking.

Attending first aid training in the Sydney region, regardless of the format, is simply not safe or appropriate during this lockdown – especially when there are options.

The cost of completing this online module will be deducted off the cost of a full course if completed in 2021. Bookings using this option will need to be processed via phone contact with the office.

This module DOES NOT replace a full Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment

*Vital First Aid cannot guarantee that this online module will be recognised by all organisations however it is reasonable to assume that most, if not all, will recognise it as demonstrating that you have made all reasonable efforts to maintain currency during a Global Pandemic and associated LockDown. You are however required to attend an accredited face-to-face course as soon as possible. We recommend that you book into such a course asap.”

The fee paid for the COVID Lockdown Refresher Module is non-refundable

Ignore the dates of these courses and the location – they are continuous online courses so simply select either CPR or First Aid to enroll in the module. Once you have completed the module please email us so we can send you the Certificate of Completion

Option 2

Our other option if its urgent for your workplace or family members to obtain certifications is to organise a small group ( typically max of about 6 ) and attend a ZOOM session in the safety of your home or workplace.

Participants complete an online Learning / Assessment module and then log into the Zoom session. Participants complete the assessments together using the required assessment tools and resources that we send to you. These resources are required under the rules of Nationally Recognised Training:

  • manikins – INCLUDING BOTH adult and baby
  • bandages slings
  • Epipen and Asthma training devices
  • as well as other additional items that are required

The cost for this format is $990 total for the group attending ( max 6 )

Option 3

Our 3rd option is specifically designed for those that have done first aid courses regularly and ideally hold a current certification in first aid.

This option requires participants to complete an online module (approx 4 – 7 hours work) prior to then attending a very short ASSESSMENT-only session at our Gosford training venue. This assessment session will take approx 1/2 – 3/4 hour where you will be expected to demonstrate all the required practical tasks including CPR. You will also complete a multiple-choice assessment online whilst you are at the venue.

These sessions are one-on-one with normal COVID safe protocols in place including wearing of masks etc.

So with this option, you can gain First Aid certification, have extremely minimal contact with other people and be very COVID safe – $150 per person.

At this stage we are only providing this option at our Gosford venue – bookings can be made by using the online booking system below.

If you need to the HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting unit, simply book a session in the HLTAID011 Provide first aid and then give us a call requesting the extra unit.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Traveling thru Sydney during this lockdown for first aid training is not recommended – there are better and safer options.

Unfortunately ALL our Sydney venues are closed due to the COVID Lockdown till the end of July. We feel that the risk of moving thru Sydney unnecessarily is simply too great for our trainers and students.

You can complete our online option for CPR and First Aid at home and avoid traveling during this Lock-down.

Do not attend any courses if you are required to be Self-Isolating as per NSW Dept of Health or have any cold / flu symptoms

As COVID 19 has rapidly changing effects on our community, please refer to NSW Health for the most up to date and accurate information
